In November 1989, just weeks after the fall of the Berlin Wall, a German man travels freely for the first time in his life - and fathers a child in the Caribbean. Thirty-five years later, that child returns to Germany to search for him. Her journey becomes an investigation into absence, responsibility, and how Europe's newfound freedom left traces far beyond its borders.
